At present Mumbai Monorail service timings commence from 6:00 am – 8:00 pm.(Gradually full services between 5:00 Hrs to 24:00 Hrs will be operated )
DO’S
- Stand in queue to buy your tokens/contactless smart card to enter the paid area.
- Have your own token/contactless smart card for your travel.
- Show your token/ contactless smart card to Mumbai Monorail personnel, when asked for
- Complete your journey and exit the station within 120 min. The token/ contactless smart card will be invalid if the time is exceeded and is liable for penalty.
- Limit your baggage to 15 kgs, not exceeding 60 cms (length) x 45 cm (Breadth) x 25 cm (Height) in size.
- Use the stairs. The lift is only for special needs and physically challenged persons/ senior citizens.
- Make way for the physically challenged /senior citizens.
- Board the train quickly. The train stops at the platform for 20 seconds only.
- Mind the gap between the edge of the platform and the train door.
- Consider the comfort of your fellow passengers.
- Abstain from drunken and unruly behavior
- Contact the Customer Service Assistant, Station Master or Security Guard for assistance.
- Cooperate for Security Check
- Take care of your valuables and your children.
DONT’S
- Do not litter, spit or smoke
- Do not bring eatables or pets
- Do not carry firearms or flammable materials
- Do not jump over the automatic fare gates
- Do not sit on the ledges
- Do not share your token/contactless smart card
- Do not cross the yellow line on the platform
- Do not lean against the railings at the platform
- Do not force open the train doors
- Do not misuse the Help Point or the Emergency Stop Plunger
- Do not lean to the train door
The following activities within Monorail premises or trains are prohibited and Considered as offences to be panelized under Tickets, Offences & Penalties Rules, 2013 and Indian Tramways Act, 1948 ( Maharashtra Amendment).
- Ticketless travel.
- Drunken behaviour, vandalism, indecency, use of offensive & abusive language.
- Carrying dangerous & offensive material on the Mumbai Monorail.
- Demonstration of any kind in the Monorail premises.
- Putting up posters without lawful authority or defacing the Mumbai Monorail premises or trains.
- Travelling on any unintended location of Monorail such as roof, drivers cabin etc.
- Unlawful walking on the Guideway Beam.
- Willfully obstructing any Mumbai Monorail official in discharging his or her duties.
- Improper use of official communication equipment.
- Damaging Mumbai Monorail signages or other documents.
- Unauthorized sale of tickets.
- Damage to any property or causing fire hazards or explosions.
- Tampering with any safety device and endangering the safety of passengers or obstructing trains.
- Any unauthorized sale of articles in the Mumbai Monorail premises.
Token
- For fixed origin and destination Valid for single journey
Smart Card
- Valid for 6 months from the date of purchase/recharge.
- Minimum value : Rs. 150
- (Rs. 100 Refundable Security Deposit* + Rs. 50 for travel)
- Maximum recharge value :RS. 1000/- *conditions apply for Refundable Security Deposit
Other Ticketing Rules
- Incase of entry/exit from same station minimum fare will be charged from the card.
- Start your journey within 30 minutes of purchase of token. After 30 minutes, token will not be accepted by Automated Fare Collection (AFC) Gates
- The refund of unused token can be done within 30 minutes of purchase from purchasing station only.
- Maximum recharge value :RS. 1000/- *conditions apply for Refundable Security Deposit
- Touch your smart card/token at the entry gate screen for the opening of flap. Drop your token in exit gate or show your card at the exit gate for opening of flaps.
- Ensure that every entry on a smart card/token is followed by a valid exit from the Monorail System. Incase of mismatch, penalty will be charged as per Business Rules of Mumbai Monorail.
- Permissible limit for staying inside the station after entry is 20 minutes for same station and 120 minutes for other station. Overstaying beyond limits will be charged at the rate of Rs.10 per hour subject to a maximum of Rs.100.
- Token is valid for single journey with fixed origin and destination. Travelling beyond the defined destination will be charged with a fixed penalty of Rs.50 and an additional fare of overstepped distance
- Loss of smart card/token in the paid area will be treated as ticketless travel and a penalty of Rs. 200 will be charged for passenger to exit.
